Management and treatment of the Acute Abdomen:

Abdominal emergencies are a common presentation in first opinion practice - ranging from bleeding bitch speys and GDV’s to foreign bodies and peritoneal effusions. In this course we will cover practical tips to help you deal with these situations in practice. Including:

  • Diagnosis and stabilisation of the acute abdomen

  • Rapid splenectomies

  • GDVs - stabilisation, surgery and post-operative care

  • Enterectomies

  • Management of septic peritonitis

This full day CPD course is aimed at GP practitioners and will include both lectures to cover the theory, followed by hands-on cadaver-based practical sessions in our wet lab.
