Tips and tricks on how to perform the neurological exam and confidently localise the lesion
When should I refer a non-ambulatory dog, and what can I manage on my own?
What’s the difference between Horner’s syndrome and facial paralysis again?
In a busy practice, finding the time to perform a full neurological exam from start to finish—and then delve into the textbooks—can be a challenge. This course is designed to simplify the process, focusing on practical approaches tailored to each case presentation. Working in small groups, you’ll collaborate to pinpoint neurolocalisation, making it easier to apply in real-world situations.
In summary, this course will include:
Refresher on basic neuroanatomy
Tips and tricks on how to interpret the neuro exam
Practical sessions focused on accurately and confidently identifying the neuroanatomical localisation
Sequential approach to the most common differential diagnoses in primary care
Practical sessions on diagnostic procedures in primary care, including radiographs (how do I position and what do I look out for?) and CSF collection (when and how can I do it myself?)
